Files / REBOOT
« on: August 02, 2013, 06:01:36 pm »
Across board announcements are necessary in times like this. This will be a reboot of all of this. Ideas about possible plotlines are welcome. Personal plot to be explored is grand. I and a few others will be able to help you flesh out your story, tell the tale you want told, and generally enjoy being a part of this particular genre. I am very much a canon Nazi. I prefer to stick very close to what there is. If there isn't much on whatever you might be wanting to do/know/learn, I'm more than willing to help us flesh out our own precise canon for the subject in question. And questions, I'm your Nazi/HST/bosslady here to help! Make a thread, or PM me. Either is fine.

You'd have to wait for that one, as well. But I suppose you could. Again, are you willing to put in the work to teach them both? You're going to have to research.

Astrid had looked up as Alexander came in, and had considered saying something to him in her annoyance. She...didn't much have to worry about it, as Anya made her move. She stifled a giggle and continued working.

Not both. Not for those two. Are you willing to do the necessary research if you take something like that on? You must know the sort of thing you're teaching, or be willing to seek the knowledge out. And both require extensive searching.

Might depend on the classes you're speaking of. Name the 2.

Muggle Studies could be an interesting one for you.

Footsteps pattered in softly before small, capable hands and dextrous fingers had set to working out the kinks in Anya's neck and shoulders. Astrid gave a soft huff, the annoyance in her voice clear. "I'll talk to Severus, darling. I haven't heard the end of it either. He shoved the wood nymphs out of their portrait to blast me for not "talking sense into you" and letting a "sniveling Lion be the head of HIS house." I told him that I'd make him itch for the next four weeks if he didn't leave."

It has something to do with the fact that you cannot pull all of the minute ingredients from the air. You can't magically create the scientific reaction that yeast has in bread. All of the things it takes to make food are too much. That is precisely how I've always understood it to be.

Now, multiplying something already in hand is different. You're not attempting to create the same effect from nothing. The same can be said for enlargement.

Astrid clapped her hands, delighted. "Perfect. Another 5 for Ravenclaw. You are correct. Luckily, such things are only in the next room. Might I have three first years come forward to summon the honey, the sugar and the scones? And three second years to Engorge or multiply as needed?" The Professor asked, looking at the students.

The former Ravenclaw's face was inscrutable as she looked at the boy. She doesn't seem to know how to answer the Hufflepuff. The hand in the air from the original student called on received a nod from the Professor.

The answer given was the one she'd been looking for. "5 points to Ravenclaw. And which magical principle does that rule follow?" Blue eyes scanned for the next volunteer.

The teacher motioned with her hand at the younger student. "By all means. answer if you like." Astrid said, her blue eyes fastened to the student that had raised his hand.

The Professor cleared her throat lightly, looking around at the students. "As I see there is an odd amount of second years to first years, you may join other tables, or even go so far as to make this one large excursion together.

Your lesson today is to take these mice, and turn them to tea cups, at least for you first years. The second years will create saucers and tea pots, enough to serve everyone a cup of tea.

Leila, can you tell me how one might create the honey, the sugar or the scones to be had alongside the tea?"
The Ravenclaw head asked.

Old Scenes / Transfiguration Week Two: Tea Party
« on: September 04, 2012, 07:39:36 pm »
The students are greeted by a very energetic Arctoros. The mice in their little cages are fresh, little noses twitching as they scent the air. Along one wall is a long table, an assortments of teas and such laying in piles atop it. The desks have no chairs. The students are forced to stand.

There are no tea sets. In fact, if the students paid attention to their assignments, they are quite aware of why. The class may also be aware that table have been arranged to have 2 first years and 2 second years at them.

Eclipse, Marco, Nello and Faye are at a table together. Letrimus, Morgana, Leila and Lucifer at another. Sai, Justin, Verin and a very quiet first year are at another table. When asked her name, the first year simply replies "Daisy."
